NAS-The Don [Video]
Forget a role call, Nas is definitely present. His features on songs are aplenty these days, not to mention his own new music, and off of the heels of his own candid Behind The Music, one of the top illest storytellers is back on the scene and and is definitely meeting the expectations when it comes to supply and demand. Having been four years since Nasir dropped his last album, I know fans are waiting with bated breath for Nas’ 10th studio album, Life Is Good set to drop July 17th which will be his last under the Def Jam label. For now though, check out the visual for “The Don” directed by Aristotle.

Kanye West ft. DJ Khaled-Way Too Cold (TheraFlu) [Unofficial Video]
An unofficial video for Kanye West’s “TheraFlu” now titled “Way Too Cold” (Kanye changed the title due to complaints from the medicine company) recently surfaced featuring a pint-sized ‘Ye rhyming alongside an Iggy Azalea look-a-like. The video’s director is Ash Innovator. I’m still trying to figure out how “little” Ye memorized the lyrics. Oh, kids.
No Church In The WIld Gets ASL treatment
This is absolutely friggin’ dope. Friends Mark Nakhla, Greg Faxon, and Sam Choi, filmed themselves signing and dancing along to ” No Church In The Wild” off of Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch The Throne. All you rappers and directors take note on what it means to be innovative.

THEESatisfaction-QueenS
I often feel overwhelmed with the amount of music that is released on a daily basis as well as the influx of new artists. Thankfully, I have friends who keep me up to date. As in the case of the duo of Stasia Irons and Catherine Harris-White who make up the duo, THEESatisfaction. Stasia hailing from Washington and Catherine from Seattle ad Hawaii– write, produce and perform their own material which their site describes as “funk-psychedelic feminista sci-fi epics with the warmth and depth of Black Jazz and Sunday morning soul...” THEESatisfaction’s “Queen S’ sort of reminds me of Les Nubians and the video for the track was directed by journalist Dream Hampton. I have to say I dig the song and the video, partially because my fam DJ MursiLayne in it* She, along with all of the ladies in the video represent an array of beautiful black women. Check it out.

Raphael Saadiq makes top 20 of Time 100′s Most Influential People
Time Magazine’s List for 100 Most Influential People was released yesterday and the super-talented and incredibly handsome Raphael Saadiq came in at #18! Legendary and fellow musician Elton John did the honors of doing a write-up of Raphael for the Time’s feature and this is what he had to say.
“Raphael Saadiq has been on my radar since the first Tony! Toni! Toné! album, Who? I became a huge fan of the band. When Raphael, 45, began a solo career making albums and producing for a host of major artists, I kept a keen eye on whatever he did, hoping that one day our paths would cross musically. With the release of The Way I See It, I was blown away. It became my album of the year — a soul record of the highest quality.”
Congrats, Raphael!!! Other notables on the list include Rihanna, Oscar nominated actress Viola Davis, Adele, and Jeremy Lin topping the list.
